It’s Quiet Up Here

This work consists of a laser-etched frosted plexiglass, positioned in front of stacks of cardboard draped in velvet, and a painted cardboard cutout. The painting on the plexiglass panel depicts a 3D model in Blender, featuring scans of a roof, run down car, and tires, in two perspectives - one close up and another far in distance. The frosted plexiglass turns opaque from etching, exemplified by the unpainted sections of the roof. The painted cardboard cutout shows a distorted mirror reflection of the building’s windows. The cardboard stack and velvet drapery provide a background for the painted plexiglass and expands the narrative beyond the painted surfaces.
