Withering

Acrylic on canvas and laser-etched plexiglass

This diptych shows two perspectives of a 3D model in Blender, the same one as depicted in “Persistence.” Falling leaves are airbrushed and rendered as sharp geometric shapes, representing obscurations in close-up digital scans. Positioned partially on top of the canvas, the laser-etched plexiglass shows a frontal view of the chair on the carpet. Its frosted texture softly obscures the carpet, similar to how airbrushing technique depicts fuzziness of digital spaces. It is documented against the canvas and tapes I worked with to create this painting.
